Osmos (for iPhone/Touch), coming August 5th

Posted by on Jul 30, 2010 in iPhone/iPad, Osmos | 13 Comments

It’s official: Osmos will be coming out on the iPad’s sexy little sister on August 5th! It will feature full Retina display and iOS 4.0 support, along with all the familiar features from the iPad version: addictive, physics-based gameplay, fluid multitouch controls, lush, flowing visuals, and a chill, ambient electronic soundtrack. It will be priced at (the low, iPhone-market style) $2.99.

The #1 question we get asked is “how will Osmos look and play on the iPhone’s small screen, especially with my fat fingers?” The answer: very nicely! Check out this video to see it in action.

We’ve put a lot of work into this version (in fact the iPad “inherited” a lot of that work), and we hope you’ll enjoy it! For more information on features, the trailer, and awesome reviews of the iPad version, check out the Osmos for iPad page.

It’s on the iPod touch too right? I only see the word iPhone, so is it only for the iPhone 4?

Nice job ruining it with OpenFeint. OpenFeint is a piece of crap.

@Cameron: Yes, iPod Touch as well. Just updated the post title. :)

@Matt: We bent over backwards to make sure our OpenFeint integration is unobtrusive. If you want it, it’s there; if not, it won’t bother you. We’d love to hear your feedback on this once you’ve tried it.

Hi Eddy, perhaps you remember me from steam last year. Would you mind checking your inbox on Touch Arcade when you have a moment? Thanks =)

Looks fantastic. Glad to see it finally out there for iPhone & iPad.

But… what are the chances it will see the light of day for the Xbox 360? I’m dying to have this kind of eye candy on the big screen with a real sound system. Happy to pay again for it! Should be relatively straightforward with XNA Studio.

And once done for the Xbox 360, it should be pretty straight forward to then port it to the new WinPhone 7, since it can be developed there in XNA Studio, too.

I don’t really give a crap about iPhone–when will it be available for Android?

Serious? You guys still have not bothered to port for Android? I read your little article, but the real translation is you are either too lazy or your company no longer has the people who can do it. You guys are missing the boat as android is becoming the dominate OS for phone. Companies such as yours never survive for the long haul as you lack the vision necessary.
