Osmos animated desktop

Via the API functions GetDesktopWindow and GetDCEx, you can repaint or play video on the windows desktop (newer versions of VLC can do this on Windows XP). An Osmos desktop would be brilliant, especially for developers and scientists - I often run Osmos and leave an ambient or random level on when I...

Re: Xbox 360 Version

To the developers - I'd be more than willing to assist with researching console development/porting Osmos to consoles along with the screen saver without charge

Re: Osmos Support

I'm having problems with my Dell Inspiron 1545. It's 2.0ghz core 2 duo, 4gb ram but it's only got a built in intel graphics card. I didn't think that Osmos would need a powerful graphics card. Should it run with this spec? I'd imagine it would need a more powerful graphics device, although I really...

Re: Screensaver help

A Nintendo Wii controller can easily be linked to a pc/mac via bluetooth, a wired xbox 360 controller via USB. If you can give me some kind of prototype control interfaces for Osmos (just some of abstract class definitions in C++, C# or Object Pascal would be sufficient), I'll get to work on coding ...

Re: Multiplayer!

I find PC is still the nicest multiplayer platform... no need to pay for memberships, cheaper games, full support for mods, dedicated servers, consoles, etc...

although for osmos, most multiplayer gaming would probably be local on one machine, so 360 or PC/USBHID would work equally as well :)

Re: Screensaver help

I would recommend either putting all resources used by the saver into the screen saver executable via resource scripts (*.rc/*.res). Otherwise, install to program files, and install a "launcher" to the Windows folder. The launcher checks for existing instances, probably via a mutex or wind...

Re: Multiplayer!

Also, Windows XP supports at least four Xbox 360 controllers via DirectInput, and possibly up to sixteen via the old joy* API functions. I'd imagine that the newer Windows/DX versions support at least that many controllers, and they are very easy to interface with, so controls for a multiplayer via ...

Re: Playing with the keyboard?

Control most PC software from Xbox 360 controller: http://www.battlesnake.co.uk/soft.html Scroll down to Xmouse (taking a brief read of the EULA and instructions of course!) Please read the help image (via the help link, just above the download button). This explains the actual mapping used between ...

Re: is this comming to (handheld)consoles anytime in the future?

I seem to remember the Nokia 5800 has some basic OpenGL support.
The newer Nokias hopefully have improved on this and might be able to
play a slightly more basic version of this game by now.
