Re: Enable leader board?

Hi brisdaz, Nothing new to report I'm afraid. It's been difficult to get any movement on the Android front lately. =/ In the meantime, here are the latest stats if you're interested: Transcendent: 25 Enlightened: 44 Grand Master: 86 Master: 242 Expert: 595 Ace: 1,734 Adept: 5,255 Initiate: 10,754 Ne...

Re: OSMOS Mote running slow on Android

Thanks for the info. It does seem like we have some issues on a few Galaxy models. We're hoping to improve that, but it's slow going unfortunately. In the meantime I'd like to at least offer you a refund. Could you email your Android receipt to webmaster@hemispheregames.cmo please? Thanks!

Re: OSMOS Mote running slow on Android

First of all, thanks for picking up the game twice! :)

Osmos does run a little slowly on some Android devices unfortunately. (And the D3D flag doesn't apply to mobile versions.) What model phone & OS are you running it on?

Thanks,
Eddy

Re: Osmos Suggestions, Improvements & Wishlists

Hi Anonymouse, Yup, we still watch these forums. :) We actually built Osmos "from scratch" as opposed to using a game engine. We use OpenGL or DirectX for graphics of course, OpenAL for sound, and libogg/libvorbis to read .ogg music files, but that's about it. Everything else is language/s...

Re: Multiplayer with two devices/one account when on the road

Aha, a programmer! :) Thanks for the snippets, Kai. Agreed with your analysis. Sorry to hear your auto-match got interrupted. The good news (for us) is there are still a significant number of people playing Osmos multiplayer online, but it makes it hard to connect to a specific person. To be fully t...

Re: Multiplayer with two devices/one account when on the road

Thanks for trying all that, Kai! Weird about the hotspot "World is Muted" thing. I guess iOS and Android detect wifi connectivity a bit differently. =/ We've found that Google Play Game Invitations don't work very well unfortunately. (Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. We haven't fou...

Re: Multiplayer with two devices/one account when on the road

Hi Kai, Your hotspot idea is interesting, Kai. I don't have an Android device that can act as a hotspot (no phone, just some small & large tablets), but I just tried connecting my iPhone and iPad in that way. (Bluetooth off on both devices. iPhone acting as a hotspot and iPad connected to the iP...

Re: Multiplayer with two devices/one account when on the road

Good question kaiw! Indeed, we added bluetooth support on iOS specifically for this use-case, but bluetooth on Android proved too erratic/unreliable. The only thing I can think of is to create a 2nd Google account to use on one of the devices and play over Google Play Games. (I've done this myself i...

Re: Does Google Play integration mean cloud progress save?

Unfortunately not. The Android version of Osmos is actually a cross-compiled version of our iOS codebase, coded in C++ and Objective-C using iOS calls, not Java and Android NDK calls. So if Apportable doesn't implement the "bridge" for a specific feature from iOS to Android, we can't work ...

Re: Does Google Play integration mean cloud progress save?

Unfortunately Osmos doesn't support cloud backup of game progress, sorry. We're trying to get our platform builder (Apportable) to support this (as we do on iOS), but no luck yet. Hopefully someday!
