Robert, have you installed the game to C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\OsmosDemo? (or something like that.) If not, please do and try again.
Under Vista, the current version of the demo won't create the osmos.log file if it's installed to (for instance) ProgramFiles.

Hi Robert, It's likely a Vista security issue. The next version should handle this better, but it should be possible to get this version working. Where did you install the demo? I assume sound is working for you otherwise? (in other games, etc.)
Odd problem; hard to say why OpenAL isn't finding your device. I'll add additional log info to the next version though -- hopefully that'll help uncover what's going wrong.
