Game inspiration Osmos

I found this wallpaper on my Doogee S40 and could automaticly associate with Osmos. What is it exactly? I know that in the game is mentioned as a matter but I was wondering what is the inspiration for it.

Well spotted! Those are jellyfish. (Aren't they beautiful?)

Nice, yeah, when Kun worked on the various art layers for Osmos, I know he took inspiration from a few different sources, including jellyfish, microscopy, and nebulae.

Another example: when I worked on the Ovarium visuals, I took strong inspiration from "volvox", a type of microscopic algae.

Very good work. It's one of those remarkable games that were ahead of its time and I can't get tired of saying it. (Before Agar.io) Love every detail in the game and with a very well fitting soundtrack.
