Have you guys started on the Linux version yet, or is that low priority project at this stage?

Hi ijontichy,

We've not yet started on a Linux version of Osmos. It's on our list of "Things we'd like to do with Osmos". Needless to say, we've been really busy up to this point just getting Osmos out the door! :D

Just thought i'd mention i'd be interested in the Linux version (more incentive if we linux users have a visible presence :))
(http://www.linuxformat.com) - free publicity sells very very well, i'm sure they would publish an article about Osmos when the Linux version is done :)
And http://www.phoronix.com would probably do an article online.

Good luck with your sales

Just bought the Windoze version - runs fine under windows 7 64 bit, by the way.

Awesome game.

However, the only reason I boot my machine to windows is to play games, and I would prefer to do that in Linux.
I look forward to a native linux version.

Linuxers out there may be interested to know that Osmos runs quite nicely under VirtualBox :) (at least it does on my Gentoo x86 32 bit Intel Quad core system) - minor glitches in the sound but nothing serious.

I only found this out after playing in Windows for a couple of hours, pity, I could not copy my progress from Windoze to my VM.

Any suggestions on how I can transfer my progress?

PS. Any plans to release a 'level editor'?

@lyallp: copy your Osmos.sta file from <username>\My Documents\Osmos from your Windows partition to the equivalent on your VirtualBox setup, and voila: you shoud be good to go! :)

Cool.

Found the Windows 7 version of the document in %SYSTEM_DRIVE%:\Users\<username>\Documents\Osmos
whereas the XP version is in %SYSTEM_DRIVE%:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\Osmos

Hello, this game looks great! I would just like to add a voice for a linux version :)

I will definitely buy this game if you offer a linux version.

Thanks, Nick

Noted niick -- thanks! Just wanted to point out that the PC version can be played on Linux via Wine and VirtualBox.

The idea of the Linux version was the only reason that i baught it to be honest, i hate using wine and/or a vm to run games, i hope the Linux version will come soon :D
