Did the demo blow up your computer?
No sound?
Horrible frame rates?

Let us know and we'll try to fix it.

organic, intuitive, gorgeous, immersive...
A game that transcends the expected framework of "game" and bends you to its particular ontology. I am not a gamer easily moved or easily snared. Both were accomplished, and I commend you on this, within the first 40 seconds of gameplay. Continue to feed the world this incredibly nutritive style of play. We will be better for it.

The game ran very fluid for me. No video or audio stuttering at all. And the overlay worked perfectly through steam. Sometimes my half-life will freeze if I access the overlay, but Osmos worked fine all throughout.

Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.41 GHz
2 GB PC3200
nVidia GeForce 7600GS w/ 512MB
WinXP SP2

This is a simple yet catchy game that reminds me flOw for PSP. I've installed it today via Steam. The game runs smoothly but I see rough squares consisting of lines, moving and growing bigger in the background layer both in fullscreen and windowed modes. The mouse pointer is a square, too. They must be plankton, I assume. Maybe that can be a driver issue. Also, I like the music and SFX but it should be better to add volume controls to the game, the loopy music can be boring. Thanks... Here is a screenshot of the menu:

My rig:
Athlon 64 X2 5400+
2 GB PC2-6400 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3850
XP 32bit, Catalyst 9.2

EDIT: This problem occurs when rendering detail is set to high only, no problem with medium nor low rendering modes except the mouse pointer remains the same in all modes.

EDIT 2: To solve this issue, update your video drivers to Catalyst 9.3 (3/18/2009)

Thanks for the feedback and specs.

First time I see this problem Ju1i@. Could you send me a copy of your osmos.log file please? (It should be in .\Steam\steamapps\common\osmos igf demo) It may give me an idea what's happening.
Besides that, have you updated your video-card driver recently? 98% of the time that solves the problem. (http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx)

As for sound/volume control, agreed. It's coming. :)

Thanks,
Eddy

Hi falco_eagle,

I assume sound is working for you otherwise? (in other games, etc.)
Odd problem; hard to say why OpenAL isn't finding your device. I'll add additional log info to the next version though -- hopefully that'll help uncover what's going wrong.

Thanks,
Eddy
