Blank white screen Win7 64 - Workaround

Postby Gregmundo » Wed Dec 30, 2009 3:47 pm

I have both the demo and the full game, the demo works fine in full screen/windowed mode but the full game didn't at all, just leaves with with a blank white screen and sounds playing at start up.

So..I deleted the config.cfg file from Documents\Osmos as seen in a Steam thread.

This allowed me to play in full screen mode but switching to windowed mode left me with an in-game static screen. (You can use alt+Enter to toggle)

I changed my desktop settings to non-Aero and it all works from Steam regardless of full screen or not.

Hope the above helps anybody, I'm assuming there's been changes in the game since the demo version that have caused this issue, rather than a driver issue.

I have the same problem.
Hardware: ACER 6292 http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do?Lan ... 3890244514 <<< link is from 6293 but Hardware is the same.
OS: Win7 RC 64
Gaming Platform: STEAM

Will try your workaround and tell if it worked out for me.

Switching the Aero environment on or off affects the white screen instantly, (from broken to working, and vice versa) for me. Just re-checked.

I'm not using a laptop though;

Osmos via Steam
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 (Retail, not RC)
Intel i7 920
6GB DDR3 1600MHz
Asus Rampage II Extreme
2x Asus GTX285 Matrix in SLI

Good luck!

How did you switch it on/off? There are more than 1 ways to do this.

EDIT: I disabled the "Designs" Service and still have the White screen.

If you disabled your aero in a different way please give a foolproof description.

EDIT2: Works now with all visual gimmicks enabled. THX.
