How to configure DirectX in Osmos (since Update 1.6.0)

Hi!

Osmos runs perfectly on my little Netbook but did not work on my Notebook till today ("frozen" start of the game, poor frame rate).
My installed ATI Notebook Graphic-Driver-Software does not support openGL correctly.

In the Change-Log about the 1.6.0 Update on Steam today I just found the Information about the new Feature ("added DirectX (D3D) support") but no hint, how to configure it.
But in the Change Log here on this Site is a link to the Osmos-FAQ`s and this link brought me to the solution of my problem:



Quote: "Edit the Osmos config file in \My Documents\Osmos\Config.cfg, and change the “usingD3D” variable from 0 to 1. Then restart the game"



The game runs on both of my computers now. Fine.
I would appreciate, if the Link to the Osmos FaQ`s on this site here would be added also to the "Steam-Update-News". Thanks!

I had same problem. After 1.6 update I couldn't launch Osmos - tried disablind sound devices, nosound parameter etc. but at intro game always crashed (w7 64). So I enabled D3D and the game works now ;)

@benettti32: was Osmos running ok for you *before* the 1.6.0 update?

Hi Eddy!

I am sorry to hear, that you don`t have any influence, how the people of steam public the "steam update news" of the game, and that you don`t have any possibility to let them edit them for you.

I hope, that other users of Osmos with my problem, how to able or enable DirectX in Osmos, will go directly to the changelog or FAQ`s on this site here, like I did, after my "dead-end"-experience (=missing link) with the "steam-update-news" yesterday.
