I'm running a Lenovo X200. After running Osmos for about 5-10 minutes, my laptop will suddenly shut off.
Any ideas?

What OS are you running? Anything in the Osmos log file?
Thanks,
Eddy

On Windows it's .\My Documents\Osmos\Osmos.log
Also, this is the first time we've heard of a problem like this. How does it shut down? Blue screen?
Thanks,
Eddy

Re: Shutting down laptop
The last thing in the log file is "Loading post-splash sounds".
If I disable the sound, the last thing in the log file is "Loading fonts"
The laptop just turns off. Doesn't matter whether its hooked up to AC power or not. Either way, about 5-15 minutes in, the laptop just turns off and needs to be rebooted.

Re: Shutting down laptop
Just wanted to clarify that it just immediately shuts off - no blue screen or anything. The computer just goes black. From there I can start it again, of course.

Re: Shutting down laptop
Immediate shutdown, eh? Hmmm... sounds like hardware; perhaps your CPU is overheating.
Is Osmos the only app/game that causes this? Have you overclocked? Does your fan go into high gear before the crash?
Thanks,
Eddy

Re: Shutting down laptop
No, not overclocking. Its just the standard factory install and settings. I also don't hear the fan speeding up just before crash. The fan is at pretty low speed during the entire game from what I can tell.
I'm not a big gamer but I do have 4 or 5 other games on the laptop. None of them crash. This is the only application that seems to be crashing this laptop.
CPU=P8400
Graphics=GMA 4500MHD

Re: Shutting down laptop
Weird crash indeed. My first guess would be overheating as well, but if you say that it only happens when sound is enabled, maybe there's a bug/problem with your sound hardware and/or its drivers? Can you do a bit of web research to see if anyone reports the same problem with your lap? Also, try verifying you've got the latest drivers for your soundcard, as well as the most up-to-date version of OpenAL installed.

Same thing is happening to me - same thing in my log.
Also a lenovo laptop - z565
Another thing that happens is if I run it in windowed mode, then switch to another app - the monitor that osmos was on (multi monitor setup) will start flashing colors and the system will freeze. Only a hard reboot will reset.
Most recently when this happened, I went back into Osmos after the reboot and it had reset to the beginning.
I cannot play this game anymore, it is too dangerous. I want my money back.
