Loscil's current label, Kranky, puts out a number of great artists.

Chris Herbert
(had to delete link--only 2 URLs allowed...)

Stars of the Lid

--and if you dig SOTL, you can go on to other projects by the 2 members--Dead Texan, Aix Em Klemm, Brian McBride

Labradford
(had to delete link--only 2 URLs allowed...)
_______________

And while looking for "loscil-esque" music, I came across a release by Luscine--"Language Barrier" which while I wouldn't put it on the same level, it would likely appeal to some Loscil fans.

take a listen to the first track "Headwind" and you'll see what I mean.

And another thing that is super cool is the man who is Biosphere released a disc under his own name, Geir Jenssen (i think I have that right)--field recordings from a mountaineering expedition he took in tibet.
It's a great collection of sound on it's own as well as an interesting insight into how some of these artists work. You can hear bird wing flapping noises from the field recordings working their way into his Dropsonde
cd. Plus, it's a gorgeous cd package, with a mini diary of his hike. Highly recommended if you can get into the field recording side of things---as opposed to composed music.

If you know (& like) the film "The Fountain" (with Hugh Jackman) the sound track by Clint Mansell is magically haunting and fits this game perfectly.... Especially as the film has a similarity with the 'cosmos' theme.
