crash when behind proxy

Postby mmmmbeeeeer » Sun Jul 11, 2010 2:22 pm

Hi,

I thought I should report this to you.

I have a 3G iPad with OsmosHD installed. When using 3G or wifi at home everything works fine. However at work, where our wireless goes through a proxy that required authentication, the app shuts down every time you use the two finger touch at the end of a level.

I note that it works fine when airplane mode is enables, so the cases seems to be:

airplane mode: ok
wireless without proxy : ok
3G without proxy: ok
wireless with authenticating proxy: crashes

Note that the proxy username and password have been set in the wireless settings, however it seems that the proxy code is questionable as most (all?) apps are not aware of the proxy settings in the wirelss setup - Safari seems to be an example.

Anyway, hopefully you can use this to find a work-around.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi mmmmbeeeeer,

Wow, esotetric bug that never came up during our beta, thanks for letting us know!

Sounds like its the "anonymous stats" that's causing the problem. http://www.hemispheregames.com/faq-ipad ... refs_stats

You can disable it in the "Settings" menu page. Please let us know if that solves the problem.

Thanks,
Eddy

Yep, that's it. With anonymous stats switched off it works ok behind the proxy. That's one for the next release :-)

Cheers,

Peter
