I'm having the exact same issue as bamboo, I basically did the same things, tried the demo on Steam, loved it, and bought the full.
A Screen shot from me will be exactly the same as the one bamboo posted already.

Any suggestions to resolve this issue yet ?

I also purchased through Steam, and the update screen is flickering over top of the game.
I have a screen shot, but where can I post it / send it ?
This is really unfortunate, because I was really enjoying the game until this thing started appearing.
