Issue with Crossover

Hi, I downloaded the full game and it's working great on the windows side of my Hard Drive! Played though a few levels and it's awesome! However I tried to install it using Crossover on my Mac side, and I can't seem to get it to actually go into the game. When I click on the game the icon appears in the doc for a few seconds and then disappears. I think I'm just installing it wrong or something.....

I know everybody is busy playing the game now, but if it's not too much trouble could somebody maybe give me a walkthrough on how to install it? I fail at using Crossover haha.

Thanks

I still downloading the game T^T
But If my memory serves me right, there's someone mention about install the Microsoft Visual Studio (C++) 2005 Redistributable Runtime if you encounter any problem with Windows emulator. Haven't tried it though.

Hi Majorman,

(And thanks cornario, you're spot on. Sorry about the download speed -- hang in there!)

A little extra info that may help:

1. In Crossover Preferences, uncheck "Hide service packs."
2. Go to the Software Installer.
3. Install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable" in the same bottle as Osmos.

Let me know how that works for you. Glad to hear you're enjoying the game! :)

Cheers,
Eddy

Hi Majorman,

Any log information? From what I understand you can see it by opening "CrossOver Games" and running "manually" (programs->run commands?)

Thanks,
Eddy

Well I'm not sure I ran it correctly. I don't have much experience using that stuff....but a popup came up after I clicked Run. This is what it said:

Command results

The command "/Users/Major/Applications/CrossOver/Osmos/Osmos.app" returned 1.

StdOut:

StdErr:

I have no idea what that means......

Can you find the Osmos.log file? (The Crossover version.) In Windows it's normally under <User\My Documents\Osmos\Osmos.log
if so, see any errors or warnings in it?
Thanks,
Eddy

I couldn't find anything like that. Is it possible that it's only created once the game actually starts up? I think the problem with me is that it's not actually launching into the game. It's odd because I had the demo working fine on crossover before I updated my version of Crossover. I deleted the bottles that contained all those files when I re-installed Crossover and now neither the demo or the full game launch.

This is frustrating...

Hi Majorman,

Sounds like you're right: Osmos isn't even starting up.
I understand that there should be a Crossover log. (Not sure where, I'm no expert in this.) Can you hunt for it and post it here? It should contain enough info to help us figure out what's happening.

Thanks,
Eddy
