To celebrate the launch, Osmos on Android is 40% off ($2.99) for the first week!

Osmos runs on all Android tablets and most modern phones running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or later. Don’t worry: if your device doesn’t meet these requirements, you shouldn’t be able to purchase Osmos on the Market. There are lots of different Android devices out there; please feel free to let us know how the game is running for you!

Big thank you and congratulations to the fine team at Apportable for their hard work on the port. They’ve done a fabulous job, and we’re so pleased Osmos can now be enjoyed on Android devices.

Thank you also to all the fans of Osmos, and to the Android supporters who have cheered us on during the port. Stay tuned for an upcoming series of Android-related blog posts covering Apportable’s tech and our experiences with the port and Android ecosystem.

‘Droids: commence Osmoting! :)

Hurray! I’m going to ask the obvious question – if I already bought Osmos on iPad do I get the android version for free?

This is great! I just tested it on a Galaxy Nexus and it works fantastically. It occurred to me that I had played Osmos on three other platforms but never at such high pixel density. Performance is smooth – I’m not quite sure how you did it.

Very good port, infact I sorta wished I had pirated it so I could buy for full price after the promo deal ends, it’s worth much more than $3 ;>

    Except….

It still does network traffic (encoded HTTP POST to one site, HTTPS to amazon cloud) even after statistics are disabled. It’s such a pain to have to take apktool to an app to make it behave, please fix =^.^=

Hi @AtomicDryad, I just tested the stats toggle button and you’re absolutely right that it isn’t working right now — thanks so much for catching this! I’ve got a fix ready and will push it out in an update to version 1.0.5 later today.

Hi @AtomicDryad, just wanted let you know that the stats toggle button is working again. You can try it out in the latest version of Osmos (1.0.5 or later) on the Android Market. Thanks again!

Got it this morning. Works extremely well on my Nexus S :) Great job! Reminds me of how awesome World of Goo works on Android. :)

The game is not compatible with my HTC Desire according to Android Market. However i’ve downloaded a pirated version (i know, that’s no good) and it runs smoothly (at least until level 9). I want to support the developers buying the game but since the market does not allow me, what can i do? any chance to include my HTC Desire as a supported device? any other way to buy the game? Regards

Why is HTC Evo 4G not supported? Ironically, it was actually listed in a previous post as a targeted phone for the porting effort: http://www.hemispheregames.com/2010/12/16/why-we-haven%E2%80%99t-ported-osmos-to-android/

I’m about to buy the Humble Bundle for Android and was disappointed to see that one of the games won’t run on my phone.

I bought the Humble Bundle for Android and was wondering if the game should run on HTC Desire. The specs say it doesn’t but judging from the comments some pirated versions do. I can’t get past loading screen on my phone.

Goran, I’ve finally bought the Humble Bundle and the version coming in the bundle also works fine in my Desire. Do you have the stock rom? Mine is running CM7.

I used to love playing Osmos HD on my HTC Desire Z.

Then it started crashing instanty on startup :(
