I purchased this game, while at my in-laws house using their computer.(XP)1.4mhz 500mb ram. It worked great. No problems.
I return home, and load it on my computer (XP)1.4mhz 500mb ram.
It freezes up. (real slow framerate), after I get to the end of the last 2 practice levels.
I'm pretty sure it's because of my video card.
Any good suggestions for a compatible video card?
I can't remember the one on the pc at my in-laws house, but my card is a GeForce2 MX/MX400.
Thanks for any help.
Michael

Re: Need help getting Osmos to run without crashing
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your post! Just so you know, I made sure to work on the game from a crummy business laptop that had no graphics card (ie an on-board Intel graphics chip) to make sure the game runs well on low-end hardware. That said, GeForce2 is pretty old, about ten years or so. Pretty much any more recent video card should do the trick, although you should verify that your motherboard is compatible with the card (ie you may need to find a card that supports PCI rather than AGP or PCI-express).
The other thing you can do is simply buy a new $600 business laptop, which should be able to run the game just fine.
Good luck!
Dave
