Update 1.5.7, Hemisphere version

Postby eddybox » Thu Sep 17, 2009 6:08 am

Hey all,

A new version of Osmos is now available for the people who purchased from Hemisphere: build 1.5.7 1089.
This is more of a patch than a feature update, so I'd recommend it mainly for those experiencing problems.

It includes the following changes:

- A handful of sound fixes for hardware that doesn't support EFX. (symptoms include crash on exit)
- Tweaks to the difficulty of all levels in F3A.
- Fixes to a 3rd party library for random memory corruption on 64bit machines. (Apparently this is only a partial fix; more to come. But there is a workaround here: http://www.hemispheregames.com/faq/#tech_overlay)

To download it, simply open your original purchase confirmation mail and click on the link again.

Cheers,
Eddy

Just a note when you say to click the original link we got when we purchased, that expires after 5 downloads, this eats into our download allowance, there really should be some sort of update system in place no?

Hi Liam,

Good point. We've actually reset everyone's download count, so you get 5 more tries since the update.

Cheers,
Eddy

Hi the-beast,

Ahh... you must be getting the version from E-Junkie, correct? Sorry about that, I just updated that version as well. Please try again.

fyi, we replaced the E-Junkie system for all new sales a few days after the game came out since we were having troubles with their server. In the near future that mechanism will be obsolete and everyone will download it from hemispheregames.com.

Thanks,
Eddy

Hi Eddy,

Yes I'm using the E-Junkie thing and can now get the updated version. Thanks.

Presumably when you move the E-Junkie purchases over to hemispheregames.com we will all get a email with new download links?

I'm prity sure I have the latest version now, but is there a way of seeing what version of the game I'm running from within Osmos?

Hi the-beast,

You can view the version number from the Osmos 'Credits' screen, which can be accessed from the main menu of Osmos via the 'M' button in the upper-right.
