Runs fine on an old machine until...

Postby Marfstar » Sat Nov 28, 2009 3:26 am

So I bought this game, which I absolutely love, through Steam. Installation was a breeze, starting up without any problems, playing the tutorial flawlessly, until I arrived at level S1-2. From the moment the level loads there is a major slowdown in graphics, music works perfectly, but the level is unplayable because of this friggin' lag. The other tutorial levels work fine when I return to them, but S1-2 just doesn't, and I am unable to continue playing because I have to finish this level to progress. Any idea's on why this particular level doesn't work?

Specs: Laptop with Intel Celeron M 1,6 GHz, ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 M, 1GB memory, Win XP SP3.

Again the game works perfectly but for this level. Help please...

Hi Marfstar,

Check out this in the Osmos FAQ. The basic gist is that on some integrated video hardware, the Biophobe's 'eye' causes slowdowns. To work around this issue, simply lower the rendering detail while playing levels containing Biophobes (you can raise it again afterwards).

Thanks... Guess I should've searched the forum more thoroughly... ;)
