Osmos crashes immediately after startup

I have read some of the other posts on here and have tried those steps but have not been able to get Osmos to start properly. I have tried installing OpenAL manually and then running it, and it still crashes after startup. It gets to a screen that has the "cells" that you play as in Osmos, and says it is loading sounds, then crashes.

I have the steam version and have not been able to play for 2 days.

Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 +3800
3GB of RAM
Nvidia 8800GT
Realtek High Definition Audio

For troubleshooting purposes, does the game still crash if you run with sound disabled?

The game did not run without sound, however I now feel like an idiot.

I updated my video card drivers....... and it works now. Perfectly.

Sorry about that.
