Good news:
I've turned the V-Sync on, and I don't get the Please Upgrade message anymore (At least not in the last hour...)
I'll try the sound issue.
Again, awesome game guys.

eddybox wrote:@Soran: odd case you have there... almost guaranteed that it's a graphics driver issue, but you mention you're running the latest. it might be worth looking into alternate driver versions. also, have you tried toggling vsync (in the visual options.) that might help.
Thanks,
Eddy
Hmm... Lenovo doesn't seem to have old drivers and when searching at Intel it says that my driver is manufacturer specific and they don't recommend using a standard one...
Tryed the game on my old stationary thou and that made me even more irritated that it won't work on my laptop... Nice game guys!

Re: Osmos Support
Another question for you flicker-problem folks. Has anyone tried running the game with the "nosound" option? (nosound in the command line.)
Running without sound isn't ideal obviously, but knowing if this gets rid of the problem would help us narrow down the possibilities.
Thanks!
Eddy

Re: Osmos Support
There comes the "thanks...blabla...demos"-flicker.
..unplayable..
I switch to taskmanager, set osmo.exe to use only CPU0, and the game runs.
There are a 'sync'-problem with multicpu-systems and parallel-thread-execute....
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 - 4200 - 2 GB RAM - Nvidia Geforce 7600GT

Re: Osmos Support
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your help and for the info you've been sharing with us. The common thread between everyone who has been experiencing the flicker problem is their machine CPU (AMD Athlon 64 X2). We suspect there's some code in two of the libraries Osmos links against that isn't 64-bit safe; hope to have a fix soon!
Thanks for your patience,
Dave

Hey gang,
I've got a fix that I'd like to try out. If you're interested in testing a new Steam executable, please email me at daveburke<at>hemispheregames.com and I'll send you the fix.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Osmos Support
@ patrick_leb : Can you please verify that you are running the latest graphics drivers for your video card? If your card is an ATI card, some of their older drivers have a poor blending implementation. If this doesn't help, try adjusting the 'rendering detail' setting when playing levels containing Biophobes; a handful of people are seeing poor rendering performance with the Biophobe's glowing "eye".
Thanks,
Dave

How long does it take before the e-mail with the download link arrives (purchased from hemisphere)?
I have gotten the payment confirmation from paypal, but no game yet.

Re: Osmos Support
** Edit: Meh, my bad, I didn't realize someone had already posted the dual core issue above, I'll just leave the steps on how to set the game to one core for people who don't know how.
Window Key out of the game, and pull up the task manager (ctrl-alt-delete).
Under processes, right click on Osmos.exe
In the menu left click on Set Affinity...
Just make sure only one core is check and click OK.
Head back to the game.
You need to do this each time you play the game.
Hope that helps some people.
