Re: Osmos Support
Hi guys, I have the full version, have been playing it fine since release, and as far as I can tell i'm not having any startup, update or sound issues, but now for some reason it locks up when i try to exit. Any ideas?
Re: Osmos Support
I didn't use steam, and don't even really know what it is. I bought the game from the Hemisphere website after reading a little bit off of an audio production forum (I'm a producer) and I don't ever usually play games. This is literally the only computer game I've bought in years.Meal Worms wrote:@ rlahalla : if you disable the Steam Friends overlay in game, does this help your issue?

Mine now crashes on exit every time. I'm on the Steam version.

Re: Osmos Support
@Steedus and @jeffplum:
We rolled out an update to Steam to resolve some people's sound issues, but it seems to have caused problems for a few others. But, we included a way to manually choose your sound driver, which should allow you to resolve the problem via a config setting.
Go to the Osmos directory in the Documents folder and open the Config.cfg file. Inside, you'll find a line that says
soundDevice "-1"
Change this to
soundDevice "1"
so that the last device in your sound list will be selected.
Let us know how that works for you.
Thanks,
Eddy

Re: Osmos Support
@proctor: have you tried updating your graphics drivers yet? (I don't see any mention of that in the thread.) that will most likely resolve your problem. also, what version of windows are you running? (XP, Vista, 7) and what's your graphics hardware?
Thanks,
Eddy

@Red Alert: similar questions for you: have you tried updating your graphics drivers yet? Also, what version of windows are you running? (XP, Vista, 7) and what's your graphics hardware?

Re: Osmos Support
@Soran: odd case you have there... almost guaranteed that it's a graphics driver issue, but you mention you're running the latest. it might be worth looking into alternate driver versions. also, have you tried toggling vsync (in the visual options.) that might help.
Thanks,
Eddy

Re: Osmos Support
@patrick_leb: are you playing on Steam? If so, try S1-2 again with rendering LOD set to low (in the visual options). does that solve the framerate issue on startup of that level?
Thanks,
Eddy
